Professional Experience

I have a Master's degree in Counseling from Ottawa University. Currently, I am a Counselor for Mindful Connections Mental Health in Colorado. I've had the opportunity to work with both men and women in clinical settings such as domestic violence, anger management, parenting groups and addiction. I've worked with both men women at residential treatment facilities teaching mindfulness meditation, emotion regulation, and stress tolerance. I've had the chance to become a Neurofeedback Therapist and study the brain. With this knowledge, I've been able to help my clients better understand themselves as well as other people by understanding how their brain works.

Counseling/Coaching
What is the difference between counseling and coaching? Counselors help you to explore your feelings/attitudes/behaviors and work with you on changing them to improve your situation/s. Life coaches are more like guidance counselors in that they support you and give you advice. They're similar but different. I'd like to think I do both.
Of course, I am a firm believer in that everyone needs counseling/coaching-even me. There is no one in this world who is immune from the crippling effects of PTSD, death, bad relationships, loss of health, financial issues, etc. We all need help, and studies have shown that talking to someone about your problems can help ease the burden. Obviously, it's better to get help sooner than later. If you are interested in learning more about different mental health subjects, please visit my blog here.
